Populus is the central administrator for Boulder County's EnergySmart - a service that takes the hassle out of home energy upgrades. Populus is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the residential service, including customer intake, energy advising and overseeing a pool of pre-qualified home performance contractors.

This innovative service is available to Boulder County residents and is funded by a federal Better Buildings grant and a partnership of local governments and utilities, including Boulder County, City of Boulder, City of Longmont, Longmont Power & Communications and Xcel Energy.

EnergySmart services are available to all Boulder County residents and include:

Assessment: Access to a subsidized $120 home energy assessment through EnergySmart or Xcel Energy
Energy Advisor: A personal Energy Advisor to guide you through the energy upgrade process by helping you prioritize improvements, contact pre-screened contractors, and assist with rebate and financing paperwork.
Quick Installs: Installation of energy saving devices including CFLs, showerheads, faucet aerators and water heater pipe insulation at no cost to you (installation of programmable thermostats is also available at $20/each)

Take advantage of limited-time EnergySmart rebates up to $250 and low-interest financing options.
