Laura serves as President and General Counsel at Populus. With her commitment to environmental sustainability and belief that small businesses play a vital role in addressing climate change, Laura directs Populus' overall business operations and strategic growth.

She is co-chair of Efficiency First Colorado and serves on the Residential Energy Services Network Building Labeling Task Force.

Prior to joining Populus, Laura practiced as a litigation attorney in the Boulder office of an international law firm where she was a member of the firm’s Sustainability Working Group and Renewable Energy Group. Laura was an active member of the firm’s Green Steering Committee, where she created and implemented corporate sustainability strategies that reduced the environmental impacts of the firm’s operations and buildings.

When she's not spending time with the good folks at Populus, Laura enjoys sharing the the challenges and triumphs of entrepreneurship as a blogger for the Huffington Post. She is also an avid organic gardener and enjoys canoeing with her husband and small dog, Lola, in their inflatable yacht.

Laura graduated magna cum laude from Boston University School of Law with an honors concentration in Civil Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution. She was honored as a G. Joseph Tauro Scholar, a Paul J. Liacos Scholar, and received a Dean’s Award in Administrative Law. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh with a dual major in anthropology and English literature. During her undergradute years, Laura studied public policy as a national intercollegiate poilcy debater.
