Our commitment to the promotion of thoughtful, energy efficient design is not just about reducing our carbon footprint, it’s also about improving homes for their inhabitants.

For the Planet

We make a difference by helping our clients create high-performance buildings and helping communities develop innovative and aggressive climate action programs that reduce the carbon emissions of the built environment. Increasing the energy efficiency of the built environment will drastically reduce carbon emissions. According to the U.S. Department of Energy, the residential sector accounts for 22% of the total energy consumed nationally and is responsible for 21% of U.S. carbon dioxide emissions, a major contributor to global warming.

We don’t just talk the talk. At Populus, we are committed to reducing the impact of our operations on the planet. We drive a fleet of fuel efficient hybrid vehicles. We implement sustainable business practices, including 100% recycled paper, energy efficient computers, compact fluorescent bulbs, recycling and composting, to name a few. In addition, Populus donates a portion of its services each year to clients in need and supports nonprofits to promote energy efficiency.
